Dr. David Schnaiderman is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with fellowship training in Geriatrics. He brings a deep sense of compassion and commitment to caring for patients across the Rio Grande Valley.

Dr. Schnaiderman began his medical career in Lima, Peru, where he completed his pre-medical and medical training. During his social service with the Peruvian Air Force, he practiced medicine in the jungle under challenging and sometimes dangerous conditions. This experience profoundly shaped his dedication to listening, serving, and caring for patients with gratitude and dignity.

Medicine has always been part of Dr. Schnaiderman’s world. Growing up, he accompanied his father on deliveries of advanced medical equipment—such as heart valves and pacemakers—to hospitals in Peru. These early experiences sparked his passion for medicine and inspired him to pursue his path as the first physician in his family.

Dr. Schnaiderman later moved to the United States to complete his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, followed by a fellowship in Geriatrics. His training gave him expertise in the care of older adults and shaped his belief in treating patients with time, attention, and respect.

Before opening his private practice, Family Medicine & Geriatric Center, Dr. Schnaiderman worked as a hospitalist, gaining extensive experience treating complex conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Seeing the impact of preventive care, he established his own practice with the goal of keeping patients healthy and out of the hospital.

Dr. Schnaiderman has been recognized for his service, including being named “Doctor of the Day” by the Texas House of Representatives, where he cared for legislators and staff. He also provides care through Amara Hospice, helping patients and families navigate one of life’s most sensitive stages with dignity and compassion.

At the Family Medicine & Geriatric Center, Dr. Schnaiderman and his team are dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care that emphasizes prevention, respect, and listening. His patients describe him as a physician who takes the time to truly hear their concerns and who remains deeply committed to improving the health and quality of life of those he serves.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Schnaiderman values time with his wife and their three children. He also enjoys martial arts, holding a black belt in Karate.
