Sandy Tawil is a compassionate and accomplished Physician Assistant (PA) with over two decades of experience in family medicine. Since 2001, Sandy has served the McAllen and Edinburg communities with unwavering dedication and expertise. Sandy is known for her commitment to patient care and experience in providing expert medical care have made her a trusted healthcare provider in the region.
Sandy’s career in medicine began after she graduated from the Physician Assistant program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) in May 2001. She furthered her education by earning a Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003. Her passion for science and research was evident early on, as she worked as a teaching assistant in microbiology and participated in a research project at the Health Science Center in San Antonio’s Department of Pharmacology before starting PA school.
In addition to her clinical work, Sandy has contributed to the academic field by teaching in the Physician Assistant program at UTRGV. Her leadership and dedication extend beyond her professional career; she is a past president of Temple Emanuel and continues to serve as an active board member, including roles with the Temple Sisterhood.
Her commitment to community service is further demonstrated through her involvement with the MCHI Class of 2025, the MCHI Soccer Booster Club, the executive board of Hidalgo County Cotillion, and the National Charity League of the Rio Grande Valley, where she serves as the Grade Level Advisor for the Class of 2025. Additionally, Sandy is an active member of Zonta, an organization dedicated to empowering women.
Sandy is married to Isaac Tawil and is the proud mother of three children: Aaron, Andrew, and Allison. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and running.
